In more than one occasion I worked in exhibitions. Such situations are a challenge to the designer because the audience is inserted in a 3D environment and their attention must be focused with purpose and meaning. The task to merge information, lights, objects and still tell a story is dependent on the viewer’s cultural background and atmosphere.
The designer must ask himself if a setup will work with only certain spatial or if the exhibition could be portrayed in other locations. Would it function in a park, or a garage, or an abandoned building, or it’s scene must be designed to serve the narrative?
Be it the presentation of a new product, or art, or ideas that need to be presented in a room, exhibition design is a task that can achieve much if done properly.
